Galleri DGV

The gallery continuously exhibits Danish and international art in its large, bright spaces overlooking Svendborg Sound and Christiansminde Park, just a 30-minute walk from the center of Svendborg.

Exhibition: Straw, Ceaseless Movements

The exhibition Straw features artists Bodil Nielsen (1957) and Eva Steen Christensen (1969), who are exhibiting together for the first time.

It will be a sensory exhibition where the two artists explore how we experience our surroundings. Through their works, they will transform the gallery space into a cohesive movement. The artists are connected by their focus on concepts such as changeability, instability, ephemerality, and transparency, which are evident in both Bodil Nielsen's paintings and Eva Steen Christensen's sculptures and installations. The exhibition's title, Straw, was chosen by the artists together.

According to the dictionary, straw is: "the hollow stem of a cereal or grass plant that bears the plant's ears."

The exhibition can be seen from September 21st to November 24th, 2024.

The 5 Planets

The artwork "The 5 Planets," created by artist Viera Collaro, is integrated into the facade of the sports hall on the main traffic artery Dronningemaen in Svendborg, providing a daily artistic experience for students and teachers at Haahrs Skolen and also for the many passing motorists.

For the artwork, a sound narrator has been created that delves into the background of the piece. Here, you can hear about the artist's thoughts behind the work and what the students at the school think when they look at the luminous artwork.

How to access: You can find the audio narration by visiting the artwork and scanning the QR code on the artwork sign on the sports hall or listen to it on Galleri DGV's website.

The light installation is illuminated every day from 07:00 - 09:00 and again from 15:30 - 20:00.
