Village History: Spodsbjerg Badehotel

The old seaside hotel from 1913 was a vacation paradise for city dwellers and a gathering place for locals.

Badehotel Solvang

Spodsbjerg Badehotel was built in 1913 by 3 brothers from Lolland and was initially called "Badehotel Solvang". Like many other old seaside hotels, the hotel was the place where city dwellers vacationed and were served by girls with white robes and starched aprons. From 1963 to 1975, barbed wire balls and dance events were held here. This was also where the local associations held their events and the fishermen had a chat over coffee and discussed the day's catches.

The bathing hotel closed in 2019 and was demolished in 2022 to make way for vacation apartments.
