Keep-fit cycling events on Fyn
Fyn hosts a wide range of keep–fit cycling events – and you’re sure to find one that suits you! No matter whether you are an adult or a child, or if you prefer a gentle family ride or a lung-bursting fitness challenge, you’ll find an event that matches your mood here on Fyn.
Fyn Rundt
Dating back to 1894, Race around Fyn is one of the oldest bike races in the world. Every year, 2,000 amateur riders climb into their saddles for this historical race, and the day winds up with a veritable festival of cycling in Odense, when riders from the international elite sprint for the finish line.
Nordfyn Rundt
Held every year in April, the Tour of North Fyn is a family event, with rides of between 10 and 118 km so everyone can take part. The routes start in Bogense and take you all over the flat landscape of North Fyn.
The Carl Nielsen Tour
The Carl Nielsen Tour takes place in the middle of May, and with distances starting from 60 km, it is an event designed for the hardier riders. The routes take in the “South Fyn Alps” and West Fyn, where the short, tough climbs call to mind the spring classics in Belgium.
Alpetramp
The Fyn autumn classic Alpetramp (Mountain Climb) takes place in October, featuring distances of 60, 80, 145 and 170 km. The routes wind their way close to the “South Fyn Alps”, taking in climbs of 600, 800, 1,300 and 1,600 punishing metres of altitude.
Tour de Vestfyn
The Tour de Vestfyn is an annual event held in and around Middelfart. It is a keep-fit ride for everyone, with five different routes: everything from a 10-km family-friendly route to the 125-km monster that sees riders climbing almost 1,000 metres on the steep hills of West Fyn.
Hjerterdametouren
Hjerterdametouren (the Queen of Hearts ride) is an event for women only. The race is intended for women of all ages and levels of fitness, with distances of 15–125 km. Participants can stick to the roads or test their off-road skills on challenging mountain bike trails. In addition, DKK 100 from the entry fee is donated to the Danish Heart Foundation.
Tour de Kerteminde
With three routes of 25, 60 and 120 km, the Tour de Kerteminde is a biking event for all the family. The routes lead through the delightful countryside around Kertinge Nor (Cove), and all three finish with a challenging climb.
