I 125 år var bygningerne, der i dag huser Nyborg Destilleri, værksted for Statsbanernes godstog. Da Storebæltsbroen åbnede, lukkede værkstedet, og i over 13 år stod alt stille og faldt hen. I 2017 kom der igen liv i bygningerne, da et af Danmarks største destillerier åbnede.
